Tricks to Make You Look Younger

You don't need botox or plastic surgery, and you don't even need expensive night creams! All you really need to look fresh and bright eyed are these simple tips and tricks:

  1. Line Your Inner Eye With White Eyeliner: Adding a little white to the inside corners of your eyes makes you look wide eyed and rested. If you don't have or don't want to buy new eyeliner, you can also just dab a little white highlighter or shimmer powder on the inside corners. Heck, even simple corn starch will work in a pinch!
  2. Deflate and Conceal Your Under-Eyes: Nothing will make you look older like dark, puffy under-eye circles. Fortunately, this problem is pretty easy to fix. Keep a stash of frozen spoons or icepacks in the freezer. When you wake up in the morning, apply the ice packs or spoons directly over your eyes (don't make yourself uncomfortable-use a cloth if it's too cold) for about 5 minutes. Then, dot your under-eyes with 5 dots each of liquid concealer. Allow it to sit for about 30 seconds to make it pliable, and then gently roll a finger over the concealer to smudge it around. Liquid concealer is really the only kind to use as powders and creams get cakey easily under the eyes.
  3. Use a Little Shine Spray: As far as aging concerns go, we tend to pay a lot more attention to our faces than our hair. But as we age, our hair tends to lose shine and can make us look older no matter how young your face looks. The simple solution? Spray a silicone-based shine spray over your dry hair to create shine that lasts all day.
  4. Wear a Bright Solid Blouse:  Wearing a bright color near your face, particularly one that brings out your eye color, will immediately give you a lift. Blues, greens, and purples are great for blue or green eyed women, whereas rich reds, yellows, and magentas are beautiful on brunettes.
  5. Avoid Powders: Powdered makeup is probably a bad idea past the age of 35. There are always exceptions, but the skin tends to get dryer as we age, and powdered makeup only exacerbates flakes, and can make your skin look pale and sallow.  Stick to liquid foundations and cream blushes.
  6. Whiten Teeth: Yellow teeth can age you significantly. Use a drug store whitening kit or head to your dentist for a professional option, and then try to stay away from coffees, teas, and sodas, which all stain your teeth.
